Penn’s Cave in Centre County, the heart of Pennsylvania, is close to State College, home of Penn State’s main campus, University Park. The area attracts thousands of visitors each year. Only a few hours from Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Scranton, Baltimore, Washington, and New York City, Centre County offers a wealth of natural beauty in rural settings. Here you will discover warm hospitality, delightful attractions, comfortable lodging, unique museums, historic sites, and interesting shops.

Many visitors love our craft and antique shops in such area towns as Boalsburg, Centre Hall, and Lemont. Several stores feature works by local artists and craftspeople. If you take a drive on Route 192 through Madisonburg and Rebersburg, you can see Amish farms unchanged for nearly two centuries. Forested parts of the county teem with fish and game and are favorite destinations for hunters and fisherman. The region’s beautiful state parks and picnic areas are popular family destinations for boating, camping, swimming, and hiking.

State College, the county’s largest borough, offers specialty shops, fine dining, exciting nightlife, and big name entertainment. This growing community combines the excitement of a big city with the relaxed atmosphere of a small town. A number of special weekends offer exciting getaways, including the famous Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, the Festival of Trees, and Penn State football weekends.
